About CABB

CABB Membership Requirements

  • All CABB regular members are required to become a Certified Business Broker (CBB) within two years of joining CABB or by January 1, 2011, whichever is later. The CBB program requires that you take and pass CABB 101 and IBBA 210, that you have successfully brokered five deals, and that you adhere to the CABB Code of Ethics.
  • Beginning January 1, 2009, all existing CABB members must have taken CABB 101 by October 1, 2009. All existing CABB members must have achieved their CBB by January 1, 2012. Any members who do not meet these requirements will have their memberships set to inactive until such time as they comply.
  • A number of CABB members are also members of the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA), and have their CBI designation. For those members, you can opt to bypass the CABB 101 course and just take the exam. For a fee of $25, you can attend the last two hours of the second day of any regularly scheduled CABB 101 course. Preregistration and proof of a CBI is required.
