Ron Johnson, M&AMI, CBI, Fellow of the IBBA, Fellow of the M&A Source, IBBA Hall of Fame inagural inductee.
Ron Johnson was principal and Owner and/or Chairman of ABI Business Sales, Mergers & Acquisitions in San Ramon, CA, for 28 years, prior to departing. Ron has been the intermediary in well over one hundred transactions since entering the profession in 1991, and has managed, for his associates, hundreds of additional transactions. He was a founding principal of Onyx Associates, which was a “sister” M&A firm. Ron is well recognized nation-wide in his profession, having served 14 years on the Board of Directors of the California Association of Business Brokers, including two terms as President of the CABB, he chaired the Education Committee, the Governmental Relations Committee, and the Nominating Committee. Ron has twice been the recipient of the “CABB President’s Award.” Internationally, Ron served as the 2007 Chairman of the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA), which is the world’s largest professional association of business brokers and M&A intermediaries. He has also chaired the IBBA’s Affiliates Committee, the Conference Planning Committee, the Finance Committee, the Nominating Committee, and served his two full terms (6 years) on the IBBA Board of Directors. Ron also teaches CABB Courses 101 (Introduction to Busines Brokerage), CABB 201 (Advanced Recascting and Business Valuation), CABB 501 (CBB Recertification), IBBA course 301 (Introduction to Mergers & Acquisitions), and is a frequent contributor to business brokerage professional journals, publications and websites. His leadership roles in the IBBA and the CABB have added extensively to Ron’s network of other highly skilled dealmakers and Private Equity Groups, all of which provide a continuous stream of new ideas regarding the marketing and selling of businesses.
