The Government Affairs Committee oversees state-related matters involving the business brokerage community and the Department of Real Estate (DRE). 

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Oversee legislative and regulatory issues that have or could have an effect on the business brokerage community and inform the board and members of such issues
  • Provide oversight and guidance to the management of the CABB with respect to CABB's initiatives with or involving the Department of Real Estate (DRE)

2019 Goals:

  • Explain to DRE how business brokers do business and establish a business broker permit in California (similar to Nevada)
  • Clarify with DRE the status of the real estate license for business brokers regarding how brokers handle corporate stock sales in California
