YOUR 2021 BOARD CANDIDATES

If elected to CABB Board of Directors, my goal would principally be to provide an Affiliate voice to CABB. I pride myself on continuing education and training and I believe adding an SBA lender’s expertise in areas such cash flow calculation, valuation and underwriting, would be incredibly valuable to both CABB  and its members. I would also strive to be to liaison to other affiliate members to help them not only provide the greatest benefit to CABB but allow them to receive the utmost benefit from the organization.

Hello! My name is Lynn Colclough, and I will be focusing on three things as a CABB board member: Passion, Progress, and Purpose.

My PASSIONS include connecting with people, educating others, and being a life long learner. If elected to the CABB Board, I will be focusing on the PROGRESS of CABB.

My PURPOSE will be to:

• Help increase memberships
• Put together an onboarding program that helps new members take advantage of their CABB memberships
• Increase communication with existing members in a way to keep them engaged and active as a CABB member
• Elevate CABB from an ambassador level by educating and helping our affiliate and adjacent network of professionals understand the importance of working with a CABB member

I have served on the board since 2013 and was previously a President. I am currently the CABB Secretary, Chairs of the CBB committee and the Website committee, and also serve on the Forms committee.

I am actively involved in finding additional ways to improving our industry and our association. I look forward to continuing to improve the benefits CABB has to offer to our members as a board member. There is still a lot of work to be done. I hope to continue to serve on the board and thank everyone for their vote.

As a board member, I seek to continue to elevate the level of professionals in our industry and thus better serve the small business community. This includes ongoing education through courses, webinars, and the annual conference. I believe that the more business brokers interact and work together it benefits the entire ecosystem.  To that end, I would like to see a greater level of involvement from members in committees, best practice groups, and at local and national events.

During the past thirty-one plus years, I have had the pleasure of living an exciting, successful career in our industry as a business broker, M&A advisor, business valuation consultant, expert witness, mentor for new associates, and team leader. 

Having experienced the considerable challenges that all participants in our industry face, I’m acutely aware of the important roles that education, professional development training, sharing transaction experiences and access to database resources play in supporting our professional endeavors and furthering our competence.

Our industry has changed dramatically since I first became involved over 31 years ago and will continue to evolve at an ever increasing rate as time goes forward.  We need to keep up with the times or we will be left behind. 

If elected to the Board of Directors, I will use my experience and best efforts in working with other Board members to ensure that CABB offers its members relevant and up-to-date education and professional development training, in addition to facilitating information sharing, and providing access to essential resources and other benefits that our members need to excel professionally and to prosper.

If elected to the CABB Board of Directors, I will continue to help the organization in its endeavor to educate the business owners and business brokers on the professional world of business brokerage. I believe in the ‘rising tide lifts all boats’ theory and will work to bring synergy to business brokers in California.
Co-brokering for the benefit of buyers and sellers utilizing the highest ethical practices is a laudable goal to which I aspire.

If elected I would take the opportunity to grow and learn from the other member's experience, knowledge and dedication. In addition I would dedicate my time to improve membership, update and expand legal forms, and seek ways for better networking and cooperation within the industry.

As an active attorney Affiliate Member of CABB, a major goal of mine, if elected, would be to work on continuing to expand the Affiliate Membership of CABB. Joining the ranks of the CABB Affiliates is such a wonderful opportunity for terrific networking with both CABB Members and with other Affiliates. As well for CABB Members to become acquainted with the Affiliates. Over these past years, it has been such a privilege to work with so many terrific CABB Members, and I look forward to hopefully continuing to develop more such mutually rewarding and beneficial relationships. I am honored to be considered for becoming a CABB Board Member.
